Each year, the staff and residents of MRC Affordable Housing in Bryan host a Car Show. The event is designed to raise money to support the programs at the communities. Crestview employee and co-founder of the event, Alan Claxton, commented, “The residents have a lot of fun, but the best part is the fellowship!”
Alan and his wife Karen, an MRC Affordable Housing employee, have been organizing the fundraiser since 2013, calling this year the best yet, with a robust group of volunteers and over 100 donated baked goods for the Bake Sale. Karen explained, “As I was sitting, watching staff, residents and volunteers working together, I closed my eyes and just listened to all the laughter, talking, and all of the fun noise. I became overwhelmed with emotions. God reminded me that it was all worth it to see the residents out of their apartments being active and fellowshipping with others.”
